UP Launches on YouTube with a New Promo for The End of Love
Last week, I sent our first email to the Unencumbered Press subscriber list I’ve been building for over two years. The performance was great—an impressive 86.4% open rate and 13.6% click-through rate! For book publishing and marketing, a subscriber list helps us stay connected with readers, share updates, and build a stronger community around our content. If you haven’t signed up yet, please join today!
As I’m still getting the hang of the marketing tools and services, consider this blog post a bit of a test run. I hope to set things up so that new content on the UP Blog will automatically land in your inbox, but I haven’t quite figured it out yet. If you do get this email, picture me celebrating emphatically! I’ll make sure to post an update either way. (Update: It worked! 🙌🏻🥳💗Subscribers can expect to get content sent to your inboxes.)
In that first email, I included a quick survey to learn more about readers’ social media preferences. It takes less than 60 seconds to complete.
Those who responded to the survey enjoy YouTube, which is great since we plan to launch a podcast on that platform. I’ve revamped my personal YouTube channel to make it the official home for all UP video content, where you can expect book promos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, author interviews, and more. To kick things off, I created a promo video for The End of Love, which is currently our only backlist title and deserves to be in more hands! I used Adobe’s Express app for the video but accidentally forgot to add audio—so it’s a silent promo for now. I may add music when I cross-post it on Instagram or Pinterest.
